Views From Vermont

Tuesday, December 1, 2009

I hope that everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving, spent eating delicious food, enjoying family, and being thankful for everything you are blessed with…I know I did!  This year we headed up to the beautiful Northeast Kingdom of Vermont to celebrate Thanksgiving with Casey’s family.  It was unusually warm for this time of year, so we didn’t see much snow at all.  The only glimpse of snow we got was on the drive across the state as we headed back home.  We did some touring around on back country roads, which provided an opportunity for some photographs of the gorgeous countryside.  You sure can get lost in thought up there with all the wonderful views each way you turn, taking in all the fresh air!  If you haven’t been up to Vermont before, I highly recommend the trip.  On top of the great views, they have the best maple syrup too!

One of our back road adventures took us right past an Alpaca farm.  I’ve never seen an Alpaca before…but isn’t this guy so fuzzy and cute?  This cute and fuzzy face doesn’t come with a cheap price tag.  I’m told they cost over $5,000 for one! Ouch….

I asked Casey if views like this are just common when you live in Vermont.  Every view is just breathtaking, but I’m sure it’s more amazing when you’re not used to seeing it everyday…

These shots were taken on our drive back home.  We headed West directly across the state.  Some of the higher elevations had got some snow the night before.  Nothing bad on the roads though, which made for easy travels.

These two photographs ended the first day of driving.  It takes a good 24 hours to drive from Huntsville to Danville, Vermont.  I’m perfectly fine with 12+ hours on day one…but the second day sure is looooong!

I hope you’ve enjoyed some of the scenic Vermont photographs I had the opportunity to capture last week.

All of these photos have been added to my Zenfolio site here.
