Project 52 - Week 4

So this post is not actually a photograph of Diesel…but it’s sorta about him.
Last year when we were visiting Chattanooga, TN we came across a life size sculpture of a dog that looked JUST like Diesel! We were so amazed and made sure to look up the wonderful artist who created such an amazing sculpture of the Great Dane in it’s natural form. So last Christmas Casey surprised me with the first sculpture, Bella and the Bug. It brought tears to my eyes when I opened it. I absolutely LOVED it - best gift ever. She makes so many different sculptures and they are all so very neat, but I said I didn’t need anymore, as much as I was tempted to start a collection. However, Casey gets regular email newsletters from this artist and he forwards them on to me. I was in heaven when I saw that she was sculpting a puppy size Great Dane now too. Must…have…it! So, High Hopes was added to our household this past Christmas. I think two should be enough. They keep each other company though. Aren’t they amazing?!?!
If you are interested in checking out this talented artist, you can find Louise Peterson of Dane Sculptor here.
High Four is the sculpture we came across in Chattanooga that lead us to discover this talented artist. I hope you guys enjoy this artist as much as we have.

Rachelle - I am totally in love with this dog and think I will always have a Great Dane in the future. They are such gentle giants, so good with kids too (minus the fact the their tales could be used as a weapon). I’m glad you liked this post. Diesel sure is a wonderful dog. When we got him as a rescue pup, we didn’t know he was a Great Dane, or how huge he would get, but we love it! =)
Theresa….come on! TWO Great Danes? I think I’d have to buy an RV to tote them around on trips! lol
Awwwww Now you need to get Diesel a friend! : ) They are adorable!
I love this! I am 100% in love with Great Danes. I would adopt or purchase one in a heart beat but Dave does not appreciate the beauty and grace these dogs posses, or size. Maybe a wonderful sculpture of one will have to do until I get my way! Thanks for sharing and look forward to checking out the artist’s website.
