Botanical Gardens Off Season
Monday, February 1, 2010
I was itching for a photography outing yesterday. I’m ready for all this cold weather and dead looking scenery to move on to beautifully colored flowers popping up, cherry blossom and dogwood trees in bloom, the fresh lime green coloring of new leaves on every tree, and of course, warmer temps!
I headed over to the Botanical Gardens about an hour before they closed so I could take advantage of the late evening light. I got a few interesting shots. I also played with post processing a few different ways last night. I hope you enjoy this set.
It’s coming…soon….must . be . patient!
Depending on which way you are shooting, you can get entirely different mood effects…
Above is a photo shooting directly into the sun. I loved seeing all the rays it produced! Then I finished it off with a texture. I really liked how this photo turned out, especially with the slightest red coloring in the lower right hand corner from some berry bushes.
The carpe were still chillin’ in the water…
Can you tell I love seeing the signs of spring and the buds starting to form on the trees? It’s just so encouraging about what we have in store right around the corner! Below to the right is a reflection shot. I loved the colors and seeing the scene in my viewfinder appear upside down.
I hope you enjoyed the photos from my trip to the Botanical Gardens in the off season. You can also find these photos on my Artistic Prints page.
